This year’s JHS Homecoming promises to be a spectacular and memorable night. This magnificent circus-themed event is being held at the MacMurray dining hall and is to begin at 8 PM and end at 11 PM. There are several exciting events leading up to the Homecoming dance such as spirit week, ironman volleyball, powder puff football, the pep rally, the Homecoming parade, and of course, the Homecoming football game against Decatur Eisenhower.
One of the most exciting things about the week leading up to Homecoming are the themed days. The themes for this year are ‘Merica Monday, Twin Tuesday, Class Color Wednesday, Untrendy Thursday, and Crimson Spirit Day on Friday.
Most of the students at JHS are hopeful that our football team will be victorious against Decatur Eisenhower in the Homecoming football game. The students remain almost equally spilt on whether they like the theme for this year’s Homecoming or do not however almost all of them agree that this year’s Homecoming will be better than last year. Also Kassidy Volk says “ I just hope I don’t get rained on this year”
Several students are involved somehow in the parade before the homecoming football game. Most of the students in the parade are in the marching band or in color guard; however, some students are in the parade because they are on some type of sports team. Also various students will be in the homecoming parade due to their work on the float for their class.
The majority of students who plan on attending the homecoming dance are also planning on doing the usual before the dance, going out to eat with friends and then taking pictures. A few of the events that people are most excited about are the football game, the pep rally, and one student, Cameron Hume, said “I am most excited for the halftime show at the football game.”
