Ashlyn Raymond is a new senior at Jacksonville High School. Hailing from a small town called Mount Sterling, a.k.a Brown County, with a startling student total of 203 students, JHS is a major change for her. But that doesn’t stop her from taking the situation head on. She has a passion for the piano and an everlasting love for the beautiful music that escapes from the keys. She also loves church. Church is her home away from home, her safe haven. She’s not into sports though; she just likes to watch them. In her hometown, football ruled the school, and it was always the topic of the town, football season or not. Ashlyn actually doesn’t do much of anything. She mostly works and plays with her cats, Tiger, Tiny and Katy Kate. She plans on enlisting in the National Guard and after basic, attending either SIU (Southern Illinois University) or LCU (Lincoln Christian University). So from small town dreams to a big time school, here’s to you.
