It’s a wonderful life

Ashlyn Raymond, Staff Writer

Christmas time is a time of giving, spending time with family and if you’re religious, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It’s a lighter time for people as they are kinder, happier, and full of life. We should take advantage of this time because we do not realize how truly blessed we are. The smells of the Christmas ham cooking, the presents under the tree, the family surrounding you, laughing and happy–it’s a beautiful thing. There’s a certain magic around Christmas time that makes everyone feel like they’re flying. But once Christmas is over, it seems everyone goes back to the same, bland ways. Every day of the year, you should be kinder, happier and giving. We do not realize how truly blessed we are to be able to wake up on Christmas morning and even if there’s only a few, have Christmas presents under the tree. We are so blessed to have our family sitting around us, even if there’s only one of them. We often get too caught up in the fact that we’re receiving, rather than what we have to give. If we gave more, this world would be a better place. We have the ability to impact people; we have the ability to change the world, even if it’s your own. Don’t let one holiday make you kind and giving. Be kind, be giving and be bold everyday of your life. You only get one, and it’s truly a wonderful life.
