The adventurous movie Home premiered in theatres on March 26 worldwide. This movie was written by Matt Ember and Tom J. Astle and was directed by Tim Johnson. It is rated PG and has a running time of 1 hour and 33 minutes. The movie made $129.1 million in box office sales on its premier weekend.
The story begins when Oh, a clumsy yet loveable creature from another planet somehow finds himself stranded on Earth to escape the people from his home planet. He ends up meeting a young girl named Tip who is on some sort of quest as well, and they form quite the unusual friendship as they decide to help each other. As they both desperately search for what they believe home is, they find themselves in some pretty odd situations. Most of these situations are quite comedic for children as well as adults. While hanging out with Tip on their adventures, Oh comes to find out that making mistakes and being different is all a part of life and being who you are. Together these two quirky people each find what the true meaning of home is to them.
Most parents and children enjoy this family-friendly movie. It is somewhat of a sci-fi movie but is just as funny and enjoyable as a comedy. Some adults, however, try to say that this movie is quite easy to predict, but it is a children’s movie. Other parents, in contrast, have said specifically, “The combination of Home‘s layered message, fun score, and clever comedy make it a colorful choice for moviegoers of any age.” Overall, this movie has proven itself to be funny, adventurous, appealing to people of all ages, and asks a hard hitting question that only you can answer. What does the word “home” mean to you?
