A Walk Among the Tombstones is currently the second most watched movie after its first weekend in theaters and grossed $13.1 million. This movie is based on Lawrence Block’s bestselling series of mystery novels which might explain why so many people went to go see it on the opening weekend.
In this movie, Liam Neeson, who plays Matthew Schudder, is an ex-NYPD cop who now works as an unlicensed private investigator. The plot of the movie starts to become evident when Schudder is bribed by a drug trafficker, Kenny Kristo (who is played by Dan Stevens), to find out who kidnapped and brutally murdered his wife. As the story goes on, the plot begins to thicken when Schudder discovers that the men who took Kenny Kristo’s wife have committed this kind of sick crime several times before and have no intentions of stopping. After this, Schudder has to make some sort of plan to stop these men and save the women.
This movie seemed like exactly what someone would picture if they heard the words Liam Neeson and new movie in the same sentence. Once again Neeson is dealing with men kidnapping women and asking for a ransom, but once again Nesson has a plan and uses his unique skills to save everyone. Everyone except the kidnappers that is.
I have overheard various people talking about this movie and have described it to many people. Almost everyone says that they liked it or that they would love to go see it. Overall this movie was an action-packed thriller that would be appealing to all that love any type of horror movie or are not squeamish. However, there are some points in the movie where a jump scare pops out of nowhere.
