Jacksonville High School’s next featured athlete is Joshua Peak for the boys’ basketball team. Josh has been playing basketball for 15 years now. The Peak family has a large background in basketball. Josh’s uncle, Andy Kauffman, also played for JHS and later went on to be a star player on the University of Illinois basketball team. Peak played his freshmen year with the Winchester/Bluffs Cougars. He moved to Jacksonville for his sophomore year. The JHS basketball team has played a total of seven games and one tournament in which Peak started every game. Peak plays the position of forward on the team. Peak averages 19 points per game and has a total of 824 points in his JHS career. Josh is striving for his uncle’s record which is almost 2,000 points in his high school career. Some fun facts about Josh Peak is that he was born on Friday the 13th and his middle name is George.
