The first week of December, the play Cramalot made its debut on the JHS stage. The show ran shows for three days, giving the community time to come and see the performance. The cast of this play was quite large and contained some of JHS’s most experienced thespians. This funny, quick -witted performance was relatable to any student nearing the end of his or her high school career and getting ready to go off to college. This play was directed by Frau Guthrie and Senorita James, who both work here at JHS in the foreign language department

Julian Evans played the lead role of King Arthur who was given a quest to obtain a degree from a prestigious university. His constant companion, played by Cameron Hume, was a character of little words but his actions made his character complete and quietly hilarious. The king comes upon his new companions, who are played by Jake Carter, Gracie Jackson, Camri Anderson, Nicholas Hester, Jonah Pattie, Andrew Watret, and Sarah Dawdy. The King and his new companions, who also would like to get a higher education, encounter some obstacles that they must overcome before they can be admitted to the university. They meet with the wonderful guidance counselor Ms. Lake, who helps and encourages the students and the King to finish the quest. The band of scholars jump through all the hoops to get into the university and are finally admitted to the establishment. They finally reach their goal and complete part of their quest, getting into the university. But, they have many challenges in the years ahead at the university to get the diploma they so desperately want.

This funny school play was one that kept the audience laughing time and time again. Albeit a little cheesy, it was a good play for high schoolers to put on.
