With finals quickly approaching, there is more stress than usual in the air. Whether students are worrying about finishing up assignments by the time finals start or are worried about taking their tests in general, almost everyone has something to be stressed out about this week. Senior Cheyanne Jockish, an exception to this statement, said she was “geeked” about her upcoming finals. “I’m really excited because I have enough exemptions to where I don’t have to take my hard classes, just the easy ones. I only have to take 2 out the 4. It’s also bittersweet because we’ll only be taking finals one more time after this.”
Exemptions are one of the few upsides to finals, next to the scheduling and the lack of homework. There is hardly a better feeling than sitting at home while your hardest class’s final is going on, knowing you don’t have to take it.
Sophomore Josh Hymes, agreed with Cheyanne and is indifferent on the subject of finals. “They’re cool,” he told me. “If you have a grade right on the line, they can help your grade out.” That being said, if your grade is hovering right over an F, it could push your grade down to the point of failing.
Senior Emanuel Lopez, has a more serious take on finals, saying “They do you, or you do them. The point of no return.”
So whether you plan to study, or to just wing it, make sure you remember finals next week.
