For those of you who may not know, every year seniors have an opportunity to buy something called a senior block. For just five dollars, any senior can purchase a tiny piece of paper to doodle on! Once the tiny paper is sufficiently covered with doodles, it will then be hung on the wall for all the underclassmen, who generally could not care less, to see.
If you still don’t understand then consider this: the idea is essentially the same as when a child draws something and really likes it so his/her parents hang it on the fridge. Except in this situation the parents don’t care about the picture and the child never gets to see it. These are the fairly jumbled ideas behind the senior block.
Of course, it’s not all bad. You do get to pick where your block is. You know, unless you are one of those (many) people who didn’t show up to the attendance office between 6:00 and 7:00am on a Tuesday morning.
Despite all this, it is not as bad as it sounds. You are able to get your friends together and all buy blocks next to each other’s in order to make one big picture! Unless, you know, you can’t get all your friends to each bring five dollars to the attendance office at 6:00am…on a Tuesday. But I’m sure there is something good about them!
