The future holds something for everyone, and the opportunities are endless. Doctor, lawyer, president, singer, artist-you name it; you can do whatever you put your mind to. It doesn’t matter what your childhood was like or if you have money or not; it depends if you challenge yourself, and you see how many opportunities you have.
When I was a child my mother would always tell me, “You can do what you want to do in life and be who you want to be. Pick a job that resembles you and shows who you are.” I never understood back then what she meant because I thought everyone’s parents worked where mine did, but it wasn’t until I realized all of the choices I have that I understood.
The first step to a future full of choices is education. Getting good schooling and applying yourself in school is important in order to get into a good college and getting a supportive job. School is a stepping stone that seems to take forever to complete but in order to get where we want to go, we need to learn more about the world and what it has to offer. We all have a certain path to travel down. Are you going to follow that path or go astray?
Specific things are meant to happen that will seem heartbreaking and unbearable but they will eventually help us grow and be stronger. All of our experiences now will benefit us later when a situation comes along again, and we will already know how to handle it. Everything that is thrown at us is for a purpose, and everything that happens is for a reason.
When we finish our education, our lives will be put to the test. We may struggle to find a job or a place to live. We definitely will have trials, but you will always have some place to go. Pick something that reflects who you are.
It’s not all about where you work; it’s who you’re with, what you do, and how you feel. You have the choice for everything in your life, and it’s up to you to follow the path or to make a new trail. It’s the endless opportunities that help us along the way, to reassure us that there is more out there than we think.
