Kids everywhere around the world are either bullies or the victim of a bully. It’s estimated that 160,000 kids miss school every day to avoid confrontation with their attacker. 1-7 students in grades K-12 are either being bullied or doing the bullying. No matter how you look at it, it’s a lot of miss doings, and needs to stop.
In one school survey, 71% of kids admit that at their school there is a bullying problem. In another school survey, 1-20 students have seen another student with a gun. In an average estimate, there are 2.1 million bullies and 2.7 million victims to bullies.
Just thinking about how the numbers will raise in a few years and how it gets harder and harder to put your children through that. Some parents result to private schools or homeschooling, but there is bullying at private schools and even though your children are at home being taught theirs are still the constant use of the internet.
They are a few forms of bullying: (1) verbally; saying rude or cruel things unnecessarily, (2) physically; hitting, kicking, or any kind of punishment through your hands or feet, (3) over the internet; Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or anything like those websites that you can post anything and everything without supervision. Sitting behind a screen and typing mean comments is still bullying and pathetic.
Most bullies have some sort-of problem that is making them have anger issues. One type of issues that is common answer to why bullies bully is they were abused or raped, and that is what is making them have aggression. They may have trusting issues and feel over-whelmed at home and take it out on kids at school. It’s also proven that 86% of students say that most teenagers who are bullied turn to lethal violence.
Being abused at home or having a condition that makes you have random acts of aggression isn’t right, but neither is taking it out on your peers. Silence the violence, and if there is conflict at home talk to a leader or teacher that you do trust and get help. Remember you are not alone, and we all have our problems, but we can get through it together, and there’s no need for violence!
