Ally Ackermann, staff writer

Growing up around scenic and casino popular parts of the Gulf Coast definitely helps to mold a person, and Ally Ackermann can justify that statement. She originally comes from Gautier, Mississippi. Gautier is a small town next to Biloxi and Ocean Springs. She was born in Ocean Springs, and at just a few months old, she was moved to Canton about the time Hurricane Katrina hit the Coast. As a young child she moved to Pascagoula with her mother and sister. Living with her mom, who was never stable, her life and health were never great since they lived in ghettos and slums. Ally moved to Illinois when she was 11 and currently attends Jacksonville High School as a sophomore. She enjoys books and movies and is an avid Harry Potter fan; she loves to connect with other Potter heads (preferably Hufflepuffs). Her favorite color is green and she hopes to pursue a career in the medical field after high school. She also wishes to reconnect with family she has lost over the years. She prefers to go by Ally due to the fact of having multiple friends with the name Alyssa. Suffering from MDD, PTSD, major anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder, she often understands others in their feelings and is empathetic to everyone. Ally is always open to talk if need be and hopes her articles pique everyone's interest in one way or another.
