The owner of the St. Louis Rams, Stan Kroenke, has purchased land in Inglewood, California, and is considering moving the Rams back to Los Angeles. The city of St. Louis wants to keep the Rams but will be unable to do so if they cannot provide a new stadium for the Rams in St. Louis. In the past few weeks, the city of St. Louis and the state of Missouri have proposed a brand new stadium to keep the Rams. The proposed deal is worth between 860 million and 985 million dollars. The new stadium would be located on the North Riverfront with views of the Arch and downtown. The stadium would hold a maximum capacity of 64,000 people. It will also have 10,493 estimated parking spaces that would benefit the stadium itself and the surrounding downtown area. In addition to Rams’ games, the stadium could also be home to an MLS soccer team. The proposed stadium will have access to public transportation. The construction of the new stadium, if the proposal is accepted soon, should be done by the beginning of the 2020 season. The main goal of the city of St. Louis is to keep the Rams at home. Owner Stan Kroenke and the NFL hold the final say as to where the Rams franchise will call its home, but this proposal is a huge and vital step towards keeping the Rams where they belong, in St. Louis.
