The boys’ golf season is in full swing as the guys faced off against Taylorville on October 4. The golf season so far has gone well according to sophomore Ross Stone. “It’s been inconsistent, but it’s still fun.” This is Stone’s first year on the golf team, so he considers this year a practice year.
Training, according to Stone, is the best part of the game. “Sometimes we putt on the greens, on the driving range and we play on the course. Sometimes I just hit golf balls around my yard and I never find them.” Stone says that golf isn’t much of a competitive sport, but it is still enjoyable since it’s very fun.
The boys’ golf season is going strong as the boys take on Taylorville on October 4. If you would like to join the boys’ or girls’ golf teams, please see the golf coaches. Mr. McCombs is the coach of the girls’ team, and Mr. Crowley is the coach for the boys’ team.
“If you like having fun, you should join. The thing is, it’s not that competitive of a sport. It’s still fun, but not that competitive. Golf is a sport for anyone and everyone,” Stone says. “Anyone can play it and anyone can enjoy it.”
