This year’s regionals for the girl’s golf team is going to be a tough one. With only two girls on the team, placement for which class they will be in varies every year. This year they have been placed in a larger class so regionals is going to be slightly more difficult requiring the girls to score a sub 95 in order to qualify for sectionals. However, it isn’t the course that the girls are worried about; it’s their competitors.
Playing at the Lincoln Elks is nothing new to the golfers. They have plenty of matches there throughout the season. However, the girls that will be playing against have played golf for as long as they could walk. They play in tournaments during the weekend and put in more hours than in a day.
With the chances of qualifying for sectionals not seeming so well, how are these girls going to beat the odds? Luck? We may not find out until after the regional tournament.
