With the regular season of college basketball essentially over, it’s about that time of the year again for some of the best basketball you can see. It’s always very exciting to see some of the best college athletes preforming at their best. Who could forget when Florida Gulf Coast came in as a 15th seed and upset the heavily favored Georgetown Hoyas who sat at a number two seed. The most appealing thing about March Madness is you really never know what will happen. Everybody always wants the underdog to pull off a very big upset which completely changes the whole layout of who could be the national champion. This year, the Wichita State Shockers have the upper hand, at least on paper. The Shockers went undefeated throughout the regular season posting a 31-0 record. However that still didn’t give them the overall number one ranking, as that belongs to the Florida Gators. As a Duke fan, I will always root for the Blue Devils who currently sit at number four. Led by Jabari Parker, I believe, the Blue Devils have just enough fire power to pull off a couple upsets and make it into the championship. As always, a lot of attention will be on a few schools that have had a decent amount of success throughout the tournament, such as Syracuse, Kansas, Michigan, & Louisville who played for the national championship last year with Louisville coming out on top. Although the rankings determine who you play, rankings mean nothing when you step on that court. Upsets are a common theme throughout the tournament, although sometimes you get a 15th seed that runs into a 1st seeded team and it doesn’t pan out the way Florida Gulf Coast had their season go. Fill out your brackets; March Madness is here.
