On Tuesday the Crimson volleyball team played Sacred Heart Griffin in their last home game of the season. This game was also the senior night for the players from the class of 2014. The Crimsons won the first set of the match 25-21 but fell 25-23 both times in the next two sets. Jaelyn Keene led the way with twelve kills for the Crimsons, followed by Maggie McNeal with nine and Sami Suttles with seven. Jacey Pate, Abby Tomhave, and Sarah Thornley added five, three, and two respectively. Keene also led the way in blocks with three, whereas McNeal and Thronley each had one block apiece. Thronley had twenty-eight assists in the contest. Keene also was the team leader in digs with ten. Cheyanne Jockisch and Brooke Woods added seven and four for the Crimsons on Tuesday.
Ahead next for the Crimsons is their regional. Jacksonville is seeded second in their regional behind only Springfield High. Jacksonville and Springfield High each get a first round bye. Springfield plays the winner of Quincy Notre Dame and Chatham Glenwood. Jacksonville plays the winner of Sacred Heart Griffin and Springfield Lanphier. Both Jacksonville and Springfield will play their first game on Tuesday October 29. JHS is trying to recreate last season where they received fourth place in the state.
