After five games in the Taylorville tournament, the Lady Crimsons came home with a second place title to show for their hard work.
The Crimsons won four games before the championship game. The mindset of each game was to push the ball on transition and run the offense. In the championship game, the Crimsons faced Taylorville. The Crimsons started with an early lead of 15-7 but later were overcome by Taylorville, who beat the Crimsons 57-52. Jaelyn Keene contributed 21 points while Olivia Kaufmann made four 3-pointers and scored 17 points.
Jaelyn Keene, Cydny Saxer, and Olivia Kaufmann were named to the All-Tournament team. “It was a good feeling knowing the all the other coaches picked me,” said junior Jaelyn Keene.
Keene also said the team has been clicking more since the tournament because there have been more practices.
The next girls’ basketball game is Saturday, December 1 in the West Gym at 11 in the morning.
