JHS football is now in post season, and with one win so far, they’re well on their way to state.
In the previous game against Centralia, JHS won with a score of 46-13. It was a game greatly anticipated. JHS fans were ecstatic when they heard the news of the win.
Senior Aaron Vasquez said, “It went fantastic. We played extremely well as a team and didn’t make any mistakes which put us in the position to win.”
One of the highlighted moments of the game was when senior Aaron Vasquez was thrown a pass from junior quarterback Bryce Schnitker, scoring a touchdown for JHS.
Another highlighted moment was when senior Dalton Keene received a pass from sophomore quarterback Zac Lonergan. Keene scored a touchdown bringing the score to an even greater difference, Crimsons on top.
Recently, Bryce Schnitker broke his right ankle leaving Lonergan to replace him for the next few weeks. Centralia was the first game that Schnitker was put back in. However, the coaches want to preserve Schnitker’s ankle and take it easy on him. Schnitker will be playing in the upcoming game but will be taking it easy.
With the first win in post season, the boys are advancing up to the second round. On Saturday, November 3, JHS will have a home game against Sacred Heart Griffin.
The team is practicing very hard preparing for the playoff games. “Everyone can feel the pressure. We know that this will be our last game if we don’t win,” said Vasquez.
“I believe that if we put our minds to it that we’ll be able to win. We have enough talent to win just as long as we execute,” Vasquez said about the upcoming SHG game.
At the game this Saturday, the JHS team will have plenty of supporters with much of the town planning to show support. Good luck in playoffs, Crimsons!
