The girls’ volleyball season has gotten off to a fast start with three wins in the first three matches. The girls played an away match against Chatham Glenwood on Tuesday, August 28th, winning both sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-13.
On Wednesday, August 29th, the Lady Crimsons played the first home match of the year against Champaign Central. Jacksonville won both sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-17, respectively.
The Lady Crimsons played their third game of the 2012 season on Tuesday, September 4th against Sacred Heart Griffin at JHS. They won the first and third sets 25-20 and 25-22, respectively. The second set of the match was won by Sacred Heart Griffin 25-20, but the Lady Crimsons won the match two games to one.
There are five returning seniors to the team: Justice Hammers, Erica Howell, Kelsi Richardson, Bentley Stewart, and Ellie Hinton.
“We started off pretty well, and I think we’re going to have a good season,” said Justice Hammers, one of the senior players.
