It is time to put the lights up and decorate the tree! The holiday season has arrived, and it’s one of the most looked forward to seasons of the year. From the beautiful lights and the smell of cookies baking, it’s a time of year that’s hard not to enjoy. The holiday season comes with loads of excitement, cheer, and the love of giving.
So what’s everyone’s favorite part of the holiday season? Speaking to Karli Knox, a senior at JHS, she says her favorite part is “singing Christmas carols.” Some other responses received are the food, the lights, and even the cold weather. A lot of people love the holidays because that’s when their family comes from all around to visit and enjoy being together. So what’s not to like about the holidays?
As we all prepare for the season, many of us pull out our jackets, coats, scarves, gloves, and everything essential to stay warm in the frost biting weather that so many of us dread each and every year. You change your clothing choices and realize that now you have to go outside and warm up your car before leaving in the early morning (something nobody likes doing).
Even though there are downsides and upsides to the holiday season, the best thing about it is the closeness with family. You could live in separate houses because of split up parents or for many other reasons, but it just seems that this time of year is when everyone can find it in their hearts to get along and be happy.
