If someone asked me to define the class of 2014 in one word, I would say perseverance. Everyone in this class, as seniors now, has been through so much over the past few years, and we have overcome and inspired each other to keep pushing through. There were, are, and will be mountains that will be necessary for all of us to climb and starting now is the best time to do it.
The half year mark is in fingertip reach, and everyone’s wondering, what is next for me? Opportunities, now surrounding us, sometimes can make you feel overwhelmed and the least bit interested in getting your life together. I can’t say: “Slow down, you have the rest of school!” because that is the worst advice ever.
College applications are due and some are already past the due date, and getting your future planned out is an everyday assignment that won’t end until you are where you want to be. If college is not for you, then don’t stress about what others say because you will end up doing what is best for you and maybe that includes the military. Males and females are dedicated to make something of their life and provide service to our country, which is also an amazing option.
Going to the work force is also admirable and will do many great things for your future. Providing is essential if you want a family and to own a home, especially offering your kids the best future they could possibly have, and if family isn’t for you, then prove you’re a hard worker and follow your dreams.
Many things are offered to us, and anything can be achieved with greatness and success. Just reaching for it can be rough sometimes, but we have each other and our dreams to get there.
