“There is only one path to heaven. On earth, we call it love.” -unknown.
You know how people say, ”Home is where the heart is?” I disagree. I believe that whether you eventually make it to Heaven or not, heaven is where the heart is. Some people choose to be sinners and some people just can’t help it. Those who choose to be sinners are not bad people; they’re just confused. Those who just can’t help being sinners are truly the perfect ones.
To be perfect doesn’t mean not making any mistakes though; it means learning from your mistakes and not making them again. In 1990, 86% of Americans identified themselves as Christians. in 2008, that number had fallen to 76%. Why? Too many people are choosing a different path because they hate to think about having to go to hell because of the bad things they have done.
God doesn’t send you to hell because of the bad things you’ve done; it’s whether you have learned from those mistakes and have not made them the next time.
Hell isn’t all that people make it out to be; neither is the devil. The devil could and should be thought of as diobolos. It’s a Latin word meaning, “the one who throws things around.” When I used to think of the devil, all I thought of was demons and fire, but if you really think about it, heaven is just like hell. When I first thought of it that way, I was confused, but look at it from the bigger picture. One has a confused leader and the other has a “perfect” leader.
I used to be scared of death, but all along it’s just been starting a new life. Dying is like being reborn again, only in Heaven. It means that I get to start all over with a clean slate. When I go to wherever God puts me, I will get to start over; that means no mistakes. However, no matter if I make mistakes or not, God loves me.
People always tell me to be who I am and love it. Even though it may feel like no one could ever love you for yourself, there will always be someone who won’t want to change anything about you. We all live and breathe through Him. We are all God’s children and since Jesus is his son, then we must be brothers and sisters to Jesus. Whether we believe in Heaven or not, God will treat us all the same: with love. Try to be your own kind of perfect because that’s all anyone can ask.
