There are quite a few possibilities that could keep you busy over Christmas break. Most people have things planned for the first couple days of break but then are at a loss of what to do.
“I’m going to buy sparkling cider every day and spend quality time with friends and go shopping until all my money is gone,” says Karli Knox.
Here are some potential activities that you can do while on Christmas Break. If it snows, you can go outside and play many different things. You can go sledding with your friends and family. Going outside and having a snowball fight is a way to pass the time. Building a snowman with siblings is fun to do.
If you’re like me and do not like the snow or being in it, there are other options that you may partake in.
If you want to treat your siblings to some fun, you can go to the 8-Wheeler and teach them how to “shoot the duck.” If you’re rusty on bowling skills, the bowling alley is always open to spend your time and practice. If you want to just sit down read and drink hot chocolate, then so be it!
Some people don’t like to skate or bowl; if that is the case then the movie theatres are always available!
At Stadium several different movies are playing right now. The movies include: Rise of Guardians, 2D The Hobbit, Wreck-it Ralph, 3D The Hobbit, Lincoln and Playing for Keeps. Illinois Theatre is showing the following movies: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Skyfall, Flight, Life of Pi, Red Dawn, and The Collection.
If none of those movies grasp your interest, you can always head out to Springfield and go to the mall and shop! Have a girls’ day out and hit up your favorite stores, then go out to lunch and get a mani-pedi. Guys can have a bro’s day out and go do whatever it is that guys do. Guys can go out and watch action movies and go watch football; girls can join too, of course.
Heck, sleep is always a number one option on Christmas Break, so don’t feel like time is being wasted just because the number one priority is sleeping.
