The Ukrainian government is fighting back against Russian terrorists to retake East Ukraine. Ukraine has been fed up with Putin’s decisions. They claim that Putin was taking advantage of them by having them hand over their resources to whomever Putin sees fit.
Russia sent over humanitarian convoys in order to help Ukraine. These convoys didn’t include much. Ukraine believes that this could be a spy convoy. Suspicion often rises from Ukraine, but who could blame them; Putin has led a dictatorship. Ukraine has had the courage to put their foot down and demand their freedom. Riots broke out which very quickly turned into a revolution. The United States is sending aid in a few ways. The U.S. is backing and considering sending money for economic aid. A price of 1 billion dollars is being considered, a small dent into what Ukraine needs, $35 billion. The United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, also had some words of warning. Although they are just words, John Kerry said it would be a “grave mistake” for Moscow to send military to Ukraine. Vice President Biden also stated that Ukraine’s new government has the support of the United States. While Russian military forces remain out of the picture, Russian terrorists intend to take Ukraine and have captured the Eastern territory. Ukraine is making a hard push to take back Eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko made a phone call to the British Prime Minister claiming to have destroyed Russian infantry that was based in Ukraine. The push back is necessary for the events that have taken place. Russia also sent a stealth invasion force to take part of Ukraine.
We do not know what Russia plans to do next; we do not know a lot of things unfortunately. It is safe to assume that there is a fight going on; things seem a little shady as well. We sit back and wonder if the U.S. or Europe will really do anything to help Ukraine? Or are they on their own.
