You can be anything

Carlie Day, Staff Writer

Judy Hopps was born and raised in Bunnyburrow, but she always had a dream to be something more than just a carrot farmer. Judy’s dream was to become a police officer and to live in the large and luxurious Zootopia. As a young bunny she’d always imagined what life would be like as a member of the ZPD (Zootopia Police Department). She’d have the opportunity to keep people safe in an environment where animals of all shapes and sizes got along. After graduating from the police academy (being the first bunny from her area to do so), she was eager to begin the new chapter of her life. After saying goodbye to her parents (and her hundred or so brothers and sisters), Judy was on her way protected by a can of Fox Spray from her dad (a reminder of how dangerous other animals can be). When she arrived, Zootopia was everything Judy could have imagined, but on her first day she realized it was a little different. During her first day on the police force, Judy realized it wasn’t all she dreamed it would be and knew that the other animals weren’t taking her seriously because of her size. After being a “meter- maid” for a few days, she was eager to take on a real challenge. Fourteen animals had mysteriously gone missing and Judy wanted to help out. Along her journey to find out why these animals are missing, she will discover a lot about herself, the other animals in Zootopia and even make an interesting, unexpected friend. Receiving an 8.4 out of 10 by IMDb users and earning $232.5m worldwide since opening day (March 4th), Zootopia is the movie to see. Known as “one of the greatest Disney animated movies ever,” Zootopia “surpasses Big Hero 6, and any number of entertaining second- tier studio cartoons,” and it is “the whole package.” Zootopia will not disappoint. It is the perfect family movie to enjoy; being full of laughs, Zootopia will capture your attention from start to finish.
