There’s a new “superhero” in town

Carlie Day, Staff Writer

After years of super heroes, Marvel is finally bringing in someone new, and he doesn’t quite fit the cookie- cutter mold. Introducing the anti-hero of Marvel with a smart mouth and a sick sense of humor, Deadpool is the perfect change up. Deadpool (also known as Wade Winston Wilson) is played by Ryan Reynolds who is accompanied by Ed Skrein as Ajax, Deadpool’s worst enemy. But Deadpool wasn’t always a superhero; at first he was just like you and me.

After finding out he has cancer, Wade Wilson was desperate to live as long as possible. That’s when he decided to sign up for an experiment that could change his life forever. Through this experiment, he would become a super slave and could never be destroyed. But besides saving his life, the experiment left him with a severely scarred face and the alter ego of Deadpool. At first he wasn’t sure he could be anyone’s hero and rejected his powers. But after the person in charge of the experiment (Ajax) kidnaps Wilson’s girlfriend, he has no choice but to be a hero. Teaming up with Colossus, a mutant that can turn himself into a man of iron that produces the ability of super strength, as well as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a mutant who can create localized tactile nuclear ignition from her personage, the three will have to battle it out with Ajax’s team. One of the members of Ajax’s team is Angel Dust who holds the ability to increase her adrenaline; this allows her to have super strength, speed, agility and stamina. On screen these two forces go head to head to battle it out and discover who truly is the greatest.

Coming out on February 12, and having a predicted 8.9 out of 10 rating, Deadpool is a guaranteed laugh (for mature audiences only, of course) as Marvel introduces another hero, who is known for his humor and red tights.
