A 70-year-old fashion intern, what could go wrong?

Carlie Day, staff writer

When one usually pictures an intern, one pictures someone who is young, inexperienced and new to the working world. But when Jules Ostin (Anna Hathaway) is in need of an intern, she doesn’t get a fresh and new twenty-two year old, but a seventy- year- old Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) who is fresh out of retirement. After deciding retirement wasn’t enough, Ben scores a job as a senior intern at an online fashion site. Will he be able to work with his younger co-workers and fit into the world of online fashion technologies? Or will he be too out of the game and have to go back into retirement? The comedy-filled story is written and directed by Nancy Meyers, who is famous for other great works such as Something’s Gotta Give (2003), The Parent Trap (1998), and it’s Complicated (2009). After production had started in 2013 (with an impressive $35 million budget), the major roles endured a lot of change. Starting out with Tina Fey and Michael Caine as the leading stars, it went to Reese Witherspoon and finally landed on Anna Hathaway and Robert De Niro.  Starring Adam Devine, Reid Scott, Zack Pealman, Rene Russo and many more, The Intern should be full of laughs. Coming to theaters September 25, find out if Ben Whittaker will be the perfect senior intern for Jules Ostin and her online fashion site in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern.
