It’s not a bird. It’s not a plane. It’s not a man. It’s Supergirl.
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escapes a dying planet with her more famous cousin, Superman. Now at the age of 24, she accepts her supernatural abilities like her cousin did to help the world.
Soon airing this fall on CBS, Supergirl, has the potential to be a great show or a huge flop. The first-look video CBS posted on Youtube has caused great debate on whether Supergirl will give the DC Comics version justice.
From the sneak peek, there are several noticeable differences from the comics. Supergirl, who is played by Melissa Benoist, struggles to figure out whether she wants to be a superhero like her cousin and fight to help the city. Although she seemed a little more awkward and girly out of her Supergirl costume than in the comics, making it seem more like a chic flick than a superhero show, there are glimpses of fight scenes.
Few fans have high hopes for the show. Can CBS pull off Supergirl and impress DC Comic fans, or will the new T.V. show fail?
