As many Star Trek fans already know, Leonard Nimoy passed away a few weeks ago on February 17, 2015. He was born on March 26, 1931, and died at the age of 83 a month before his 84th birthday. This man started many things for Star Trek fans and others to remember for a long time. Leonard Nimoy is known for his legendary performance as Mister Spock on the television series Star Trek and the original six Star Trek movies. Nimoy also directed the movie Three Men and a Baby and made an appearance as Spock Prime in both 2009 Star Trek and 2013 Star Trek: Into Darkness. The man set the bar high for any future and present Spock, which includes Zachary Quinto. Leonard Nimoy is also extremely famous for the phrase “Live Long and Prosper” (or on Twitter, LLAP). Leonard Nimoy was also a man of the Jewish faith. He practiced Judaism. The hand symbol he made recognizable with the famous quote was inspired by a hand gesture a Jewish priest makes when blessing the crowd; Nimoy accidently saw that and integrated the gesture into Spock.
