Traveller’s Tales has done it again with the one of the best Lego games on the market. Lego the Lord of the Rings: The Video Game is one of the best adaptations of The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the gaming market. The game involves many humorous scenes and very fun gameplay. Despite its medieval appearance, Lego LOTR involves many of the same aspects of the other Lego games.
The abilities involved with the game include long range with bows and melee with swords, hammers, and axes. A common ability between the Lego Star Wars series and Lego the Lord of the Rings: The Video Game is the ability to lift and move Lego bricks in air and build Lego contraptions faster than normal. Another common ability is explosives. Explosives in both games are used to blow up metal bricks to unlock special items. A common ability in both Lego Batman and Lego the Lord of the Rings: The Video Game is a strength ability to pull out blocks to unlock areas and items. A new ability exclusive to Frodo in the game is the ability to put on The Ring, which turns players invisible for a short time.
The game also features a wide assortment of characters. The assortment includes the Fellowship, the Rohirrm, the Elves, the Soldiers of Gondor, Orcs, Uruk-Hai, Goblins, Ringwraiths, and main baddies. The Fellowship is as follows: Frodo Baggins (Elijah Woods, archive footage), Samwise “Sam” Gamgee (Sean Astin, archive footage), Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan, archive footage), Peregrin “Pippin” Took (Billy Boyd, archive footage), Gandalf (Ian McKellan, archive footage), Aragorn son of Arathorn (Viggo Mortenson, archive footage), Legolas (Orlando Bloom, archive footage), Boromir (Sean Bean, archive footage), and Gimli son of Gloin (Rys Davis, archive footage). The game also has many, many more characters, but you’ll have to play to see them all.
This game is a good game for kids of all ages. In my personal opinion, this game deserves a 9.5/10. In IMDb’s average opinion, the game gets an 8.3/10.
