People who are looking for a good short first-person shooter game no longer need to look. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a fast paced shoot ‘em up game where anyone within a respectful age can enjoy. Featuring as few as 7-10 missions, players play as Cyber Commando MK4 Sgt. Rex Powercolt (Michael Biehn) who tries to defeat the evil Colonel Sloan (Danny Blanco Hall) in an epic battle at the end of the game.
Weapons throughout the game are as futuristic as you can get with most of them. Some of the weapons include the A.J.M 9, which is a futuristic pistol with high fire power and a burst fire. The Fazertron, which is the rifle of the game that starts out with a 5-round burst later turning into a fully automatic, kick-butt laser rifle; the neon bow which is a one-hit kill bow perfect for either long or short range silent kills. The Galleria 1991, which is an old looking shotgun with a decent kill rate. The Kobracon which is the main anti-material (sniper) rifle in the game, with impressive stopping power and long range capabilities, but it is not silent. The Terror 4000, which is the first minigun in any of the Far Cry titles, it has an insane fire rate and stopping power, but it is not very practical for most of the missions in the game. C400 is basically C4, that’s all. The best weapon in the game is the Killstar, which is the ultimate weapon in any game; it is similar to the scarab gun in Halo 2 in that it fires a very lethal beam. However, the weapon does not use ammo but takes the player’s health away; the weapon will not kill the player, but it can drain health very low.
I certainly enjoyed this game to a great extent. I rate Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon a 9.5/10. (10/10 if it wasn’t so short). IMDb.com has an average rating of a 8.8/10 for the game.
