The hilarity of Fox’s famous television show Family Guy has brought out the laughs of many Americans. People of many ages love this show because it’s so out of this world and crazy that you can’t help but laugh. Some people disagree and say that Family Guy is inappropriate and says things that should never be said in real life, let alone on television.
I record the show about two times a week, and it makes me laugh no matter what I’m feeling. I come home, turn on the television and laugh until my face is red and my stomach hurts. My favorite character is Stewie. It’s not the fact that a baby can talk that makes everyone snicker but what he says that really gets the knee slapping going. Out of all of the characters on the show, Stewie is the most outspoken and dirty of them all. He also has a British accent which makes no sense but makes it ten times funnier. Although not the funniest character, the other four main characters are pretty funny also.
Meg, the awkward teenage girl who doesn’t know how to act like a girl, and Chris, the even more awkward teenage boy with security issues, often run into terrifying and awkward circumstances with each other. I realize the word awkward was used multiple times when defining the two teenagers, but that’s because their lives are just all around awkward. Lois is the mother who seems to have everything under control except for her husband, Peter. Peter is an uncontrollable, large man who comes up with dumb plans to take over the world or become a millionaire. He has no concept of reality at all.
Peter has three really good friends with whom he plots his “realistic” schemes. Quagmire is a perverted and immature man who thinks about one thing and one thing only all the time-girls. Joe, the handicapped family man, is the only one who is slightly down to earth and stops the others from making stupid decisions. Cleveland, the soft-voiced black man, can be declared the air-head of the group. You can never tell what is going on in his head. Together, the four friends plan to conquer the world someday.
Family Guy may not be for a family to enjoy together. It definitely shouldn’t be shown to a ten year old. For the average teenager, however it’s a show to brighten up your spirits after a long day in classes.
