Finally the Rapture has come. Lauren Kate has come out with her fifth book in the Fallen series, bringing an end to this amazing saga.
Rapture continues the story of Lucinda Price and Daniel Grigori. Together again with their friends they’ve learned that Lucifer has come up with a plan to change the world forever. Lucifer has decided to travel seven thousand years into the past, during the time of the Fall when he and millions of other angels fell from heaven. In doing this he hopes to rewrite history in his favor. With only nine days Lucinda and Daniel assisted by the angels and demons ,must reach the site of the Fall before Lucifer does.
The biggest problem that they all face is that none of the angels or demons remember where they landed when they fell from heaven. The only one who has any clues is Daniel because of a journal he wrote centuries ago. Using Daniel’s journal, they learned that in order to find the site of the Fall, they must get three relics that are hidden away in different parts of the world. While finding these relics, they recruit the Outcasts who help protect Lucinda and her friends. Along the way Lucinda must reach within herself to find the secrets that have been hidden from her for over seven thousand years.
After they reach the Fall site, Lucinda realizes that she herself was the third Archangel. She also realizes that she and Daniel were never meant to be together. The angel she was meant to be with was Lucifer. In the early days of heaven, she and Lucifer were the first to ever experience love outside of the Throne. It was Lucifer who cursed Lucinda and Daniel so that they could never be together.
Now that Lucinda has her wings back, she alone must face Lucifer and stop his plan. She tries talking to him but he doesn’t listen, so the Throne decides to step in.
The Throne has decided that after all the years of suffering that Lucinda and Daniel have experienced, Lucinda should have the choice to either go to heaven or hell. Lucinda chooses to be with Daniel and live on Earth with him as a human. They both decide this even with the risk that the two of them could never meet in this life.
After saying goodbye to all of their friends, Lucinda and Daniel become mortals, and by chance they happen to meet and now they can finally be together after seven thousand years.
