Sara’s Studio of Dance’s annual recital right around the corner

Anna Bezler, Staff Writer

Sara’s Studio of Dance has had tumbling and dance recitals for a long time now. Every year, they keep getting better and better. This year the girls and boys have been working extra hard to make sure these shows are a huge success. Sara Roegge, studio owner and dance teacher, has been spending countless hours to make sure this show is everything it has been made out to be. With the show right around the corner, the girls are working harder than ever to have their dances and costumes ready to go.

The week of the recitals is very chaotic and stressful but of course, lots of fun. The whole week kicks off on Tuesday, May 9th, at 7pm with the tumbling and cheer recital. This night consists of tumbling for all ages and cheer groups. For the first time, competition dancers will be cheering in this show. For most of them, this is their first time cheering ever, so it should be super exciting. That show is held at the JHS Bowl. It should be tons of fun. The week continues with the huge dance recital dress rehearsal on Thursday, May 11th. This is when all dancers participating in the show must come to the JHS auditorium with makeup and hair done and all their costumes to run through the show from top to bottom to make sure that everything is ready for the show that weekend. Most of the time, this rehearsal lasts from 4 o’clock in the afternoon until around 12 o’clock at night. It is very exhausting for the dancers, but they all know that it is worth it. On Friday, May 12th at 7pm, the annual dance recital begins. There will be two more shows the next day May 13th at 2pm and 7pm. There will be many styles of dance in the show like ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and pointe. It will be a show you will not want to miss!
