The Jacksonville High School football team has started off the season with a 3-2 game win streak. They have won both of their home games and have unfortunately lost both away games. So far the team has worked together to try their hardest to win all of their games and have done really well. They practice 5-6 days out of each week for hours to obtain victory against each team they play. Their best win so far this season was against Landphier with a score of 65-0. Their biggest loss so far this season was SHG with a score of 14-55.

Speaking to one of the players, Aiden Surratt, who is a right tackle he says that his strengths are “pass blocking and the ability to be coachable.”He says, “My position influences the game because I’m an offensive lineman and it sets the game.” He also says, “My favorite part of the season are the games that are challenging and also games people think they will lose but they don’t.” He mentioned he is most excited to play Rochester because it is very winnable and everyone thinks they will lose but it is a chance for a big upset.” Surratt continued, “I feel SHG was most challenging to beat because they’re always good and are well coached.” He feels that the most challenging thing about football is “having the dedication to do it everyday after school and having to do homework after and balance then do it all over again the next day.” Along with football he said, “I wrestle and it helps with explosiveness and keeps me in shape along with inside control with hand placement.” He feels that the most important skills to have when playing football are “to be coachable and have the ability to learn.”
