Expanding horizons and having a wonderful education experience is something that the Student Ambassadors program helps students to achieve. This program helps individuals to expand their knowledge of different countries and the diverse people who live there.
People to People allows individuals to travel to different countries and to see the different wonders of those countries. Individuals can apply to become an Ambassador or they can be nominated; either way students have to go through an interview process and preparation begins after getting accepted.
Many students from the surrounding areas have been signed on to go to the 2013 trip to Europe. Someone from JHS will be going on the trip as well, junior Courtney Norton.
Courtney will be going to three specific countries in Europe: Italy, France, and London. While there, she will be traveling through Rome, Milan, Paris, Assisi, and Caen.
She’ll be visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Coliseum, the Eiffel Tower and even rappelling off a 70 foot building. Also, she’ll get to shop in Milan and Florence and will get to take a gondola ride in Venice and see the Sistine Chapel.
When she is in Italy, she and possibly another member of the group will be staying two nights at the home of an Italian family. The group will spend eleven days in Italy, four days in France, and one day in London.
As you can imagine Courtney is completely excited about getting the opportunity to experience this great adventure. Surprisingly she isn’t afraid of leaving home, she feels safe going with the Ambassador program and is happy to be going with them.
