March 27, 2012, marks the first Donkey Basketball game at the JHS bowl. The hilarious night was a fundraiser for PBIS at Jacksonville High School and Turner Junior High School.
There were four teams: a Turner staff team, a local celebrity team, a JHS staff team, and a JHS student team.
The Turner staff team consisted of Katie Collins, Cathy Gibson, Tiffany Hickox, Dawn Murphy, Holly O’Neil,LaurenRange, Tracy Smith, and Hickox’s student teacher, Mr. Henniger.
The local celebrity team was made up of Craig Albers, SGT. Baldrick, Officer Chumley, Kristin Hoffman, Rick Ivemeyer, Rick Kluge, Mindy Olsen, and Paula Stewart.
Jacksonville High School’s staff team included Jeanette Barlow, Rachel Bradley, Bailey Brammeier, Missy Burrus, Sharon Crowder, Bill Gibson, Nick Guidish, Jared Lamb, Sherri McLaughlin, Tim Orisek, Tracey Roberts, Scott Robinson, and Meghan Wardell.
Our very own JHS student team had a large number of participants. They were seniors Leo Alfano James Calmese, Katelyn Conner, Abby Floreth, Sydne Peck, Ashley Schutz, Brody Stewart, Jabril Wali-Udin, and Zach West. Juniors were David Albers, Brendan Barlow, Payton Dugan, and Stephanie Rondeau.
The first game were the local celebrities against Turner staff, with Turner staff winning the first round. The second game was JHS staff against JHS students, with the students taking the win.
The two winning teams played against each other in the final round and the JHS students took the title of Donkey Basketball Champions.
