  • "The future belongs to those who prepare for it today." --Malcolm X
  • "Journalism allows its readers to witness history; fiction gives its readers an opportunity to live it." - John Hersey
  • "If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be."

Kylie McCaherty, Staff Writer

Kylie McCaherty is a senior at Jacksonville High School who is counting down the days until graduation. She has a busy senior year that is full of different activities. She is going to be a member of the girls track team for her third year, sprinting around the track as fast as she can. She is also a member of the National English Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. This last summer, she was a lifeguard at the Nichols Park Pool. She loves her job because she gets to be outside all day and be around kids! In her free time, she loves to be with her family and friends, be outdoors, and bake. After high school, she wants to study Pre-Med Biology and become a Pediatrician. This is Kylie’s first year writing for the Crimson J, but she is very excited to be creative and write about things readers will enjoy.
