Dodgers win it all

The Los Angeles Dodgers have finally won a World Series for the first time in 32 years. They beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1. The last time the Dodgers were in a World Series, they played the Houston Astros and lost. Later the MLB found out the Astros were cheating.

Jimmy Kimmel asked Clayton Kershaw and Cody Bellinger if it was easier to win a World Series without cheaters. Cody Bellinger responded by saying, “I’d say so!” Kershaw responded, “Well, I guess so, we won, so it must be easier.”

The Dodgers have not won a World Series since 1988. That’s 32 years ago, but they have finally done it three decades later. The World Series MVP is Corey Seager.  He had a .400 batting average and a .556 on base percentage, but Clayton Kershaw had an amazing postseason. He threw five games and went 4-1. with a 2.93 ERA and 31 strikeouts. When the commissioner found out the Astros were cheating in 1988, people were mad because he didn’t punish the Astros as bad as they should’ve. The Astros only lost four high draft picks and were fined 5 million dollars.

One thing that was special about this year’s World Series was that Clayton Kershaw finally got his first ring after playing with the Dodgers for 13 years. This was Kershaw’s third time going to the World Series, and he had not won a ring. In 2017 he went 1-0 in the World Series, but they lost to Astros in 7 games. Then in 2018 he went 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA and later lost in five games to the Boston Red Sox. Then the Dodgers didn’t make it to the World Series in 2019, but in 2020 they won it all for the first time in 32 years.
