The girls’ softball team started their season with a loss to Rochester on Tuesday. With Ashlyn Myers pitching and Claire Simonds behind the plate, the girls had 11 hits but managed to let six Rochester runs come in the 3rd inning.
There were many highlights of the game. Olivia Ripple and Brisco Esquivel started their seasons with home-runs over the center field fence. Rachel Hall and Emily Graham both went 2 for 4; Hall with one triple and Graham with two. The team did pretty well hitting with 11 hits but left many girls on base at the end of innings.
There are many familiar faces on the field but some in different positions. Sydney Lovekamp was at 3rd base, Emily Graham at shortshop, Cassi Crow was in centerfield, and Olivia Ripple was in left field.
While facing Rochester again on Thursday, the girls couldn’t get the bat on the ball enough to put any runs on the board and ended up taking the second loss of their season, 7-0.
The line-up was the same as Tuesday night but Ripple was at 3rd base and Lovekamp was in right field. Esquivel and Simonds had the only two hits for the Crimsons.
The girls’ schedule is filled with home games next week so be sure support your Lady Crimsons!
