The JHS cheerleading squad has been put to work this year with winning a summer competition at their YCA camp to having one-on-one advance training in St. Louis! These girls have been busy! Being back in school means the JHS football team needs cheerleaders on the sidelines, and they are excited. Coach Danielle Long has gotten the squad to where they are now! Samantha Thing, Lanie Hopkins, and Katie Moore all explained their coach as young, fun, and dedicated! These girls were cheerleaders in junior high, and they know by now what a good coach is like!
It’s hard work to be a cheerleader with all of the practices, routines, football games, competitions, and staying eligible. Good grades are very important when it comes to sports because if you have a D average or lower, you can’t participate. It would be no fun sitting on the bench or in this case on the bleachers!
This year there are many more fun events with cheerleaders who will be cheering on our school, especially Homecoming! Every year we always have fun pep rallies where the cheerleaders cheer the students to get up and have fun participating in the games! Make sure you can come, so we can support JHS and watch the cheer squad! Besides every cheerleader needs someone to cheer for them too!
Congratulations to all of the cheerleaders at JHS for not only being awesome at what they do but also for staying RED!
