The JHS girls’ swim team is off to a great start. With a total of nine girls from freshmen to seniors, the odds of beating Routt this year seem high once again. The team will have a total of six conference meets this season with three of them at home. Home meets will be at IC’s Bruner Fitness Center and will start at 4:30. Some upcoming events for the swim team will be a Swim for the Cure meet against Routt similar to Jacksonville’s Volley for the Cure.
Head Coach Sam Black said, “I expect to finish under fourth place at conference this year, and with hard work, I’m sure it’s possible.” Junior swimmer Sophie Quigg said, “I’m looking forward to beating Routt and Chatham for the third year in a row.” She also hopes for the team’s 200 yard medley relay to place in the top six at conference.
