Boys’ track is almost done as the end of the year is running to an end.
The boys won the Macomb Invitational on April 19, where several records were set.
“We’re really looking forward to the Hannibal Invite,” said Coach Tim Thrasher. “If everyone is healthy, we should do
really well.”
The boys’ track team competed at the Hannibal Invite on April 27, where they placed second out of seventeen teams and set several records during the meet.
Reggie Bratton, Andy Mills, and Nick Shippel each set a new record for the 4×100 meet. Nick also set the 100 meter meet record with one new school record with a 21.8 in the 200.
The boys also won every speed event besides the 4×400. James Jackson won the 400, and Ricky Neives won the triple jump along with placing fourth in the long jump. Gabe Kording placed fifth in discus.
If everyone competes at the level they have displayed, the team should be sending six athletes to state.
