The softball girls are in their mid-season and are doing very well so far. Even though it’s a young team, the girls are playing their best, and they are supporting each other.
“It’s going really well. We have a young team that’s making many improvements,” said Coach Slaughterback.
The softball team has a record of 6-4 in the CS8 conference and 11-13 overall.
“We have been playing very well lately. We have a very young team that is starting to play well together. Mallory Edward has been a great leader for us this year as well. We are really starting to pitch and hit well,” said Coach Cookson.
Brisco Esquivel, Ashlyn Myers, and Claire Simonds all hit one homerun so far this season and Emily Graham has had two homeruns so far.
“I’m really happy I started my year hitting better than last. I hope I can keep improving,” said Emily Graham.
Ashlyn Myers is doing a great job pitching for the team, and Claire Simonds is doing a great job catching.
“My favorite game was the Pittsfield game last Friday, because we played very well defensively and offensively, “said Ashlyn Myers.
According to senior Mallory Edwards, the season has been her favorite: “Our season has been one of my favorites of my high school career, and I feel we have the potential to finish strong with a great season.”
