With the holiday season already upon us, there are many classics in the  Christmas movie department that are revisited every year around this time. The following list includes the highest grossing Christmas movies of all time.

  1. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006)

Tim Allen stars as Santa Claus in a battle with Jack Frost played by Martin Short. Santa finds himself in a crisis trying to keep his family happy while preventing Jack Frost from taking over Christmas.  Ann Margret and Alan Kirk co-star.

  1.  Four Christmases (2008)

An unusual Christmas occurs when Brad, played by Vince Vaughn, and Kate, played by Reese Witherspoon, have to spend their day visiting their not-so-hospitable and slightly crazy relatives.

  1. A Christmas Carol (2009)

A bitter and miserable old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who is dreading the idea of Christmas, radiates negativity to all who encounter him. Soon he gets a serious reality check as he is visited by three Christmas spirits. Jim Carrey stars as Ebenezer.

This romantic comedy pictures Santa Claus in a frantic mood as he discovers his son, played by Eric Lloyd, has landed on the naughty list this year. Also he finds that in order to keep his job as Santa, he must marry by Christmas Eve. Tim Allen stars as Santa.

When divorced dad Scott, played by Tim Allen, accidently kills a man in a Santa suit, both he and his son are transported to the North Pole so that Scott can take Santa’s place now that Santa has died.

Buddy, played by Will Ferrell, experiences major difficulty amongst the citizens of New York due to the fact that he was raised in the North Pole. In search of his father’s appreciation, Buddy is faced with many problems and changes in his new environment.

After Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, boards the wrong plane on what’s supposed to be a family trip, he finds himself lost and alone in New York. What is even worse is that the Sticky Bandits, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, from the first movie are back, so Kevin prepares to prevent them from robbing an elderly man’s toy store on Christmas.

A young boy sets off on an incredible journey to the North Pole. This extraordinary train ride helps him find himself and learn great lessons. Tom Hanks stars as the young boy.

Cindy Lou Who is a girl in the city of Whoville who is anticipating the arrival of Christmas when disaster strikes and the Grinch nearly ruins Christmas. Events take an unexpected turn when the Grinch comes to the realization of what Christmas is actually about.

Eight-year old Kevin McCallister wakes up in an empty home after his family accidentally leaves for Paris without him. He finds himself having to protect his home from two burglars while home alone.
