The time has come for Supernatural. The Winchesters are once again back and ready to fight the forces of darkness. Supernatural has come out with its eighth season and things have gotten crazier than ever before.
Supernatural, for those of you who don’t know, is about two brothers named Sam and Dean Winchester. Their story starts when their mother Mary was killed by a powerful demon when the boys were children. This caused their father John to teach the boys about the forces of darkness. He taught them how to battle the forces of evil in the back roads of America.
Over the last seven years, Sam and Dean have been battling the forces of darkness. With the help of the fallen-angel Castiel and the King of Hell, Crowley, Sam and Dean have been able to straddle the lines between good and evil.
Last season the Winchesters met their greatest challenge ever, the Leviathans. These are highly adaptable creatures that can copy any human they wish, making these creatures nearly impossible to kill. One of them takes the form of a billionaire named Dick Roman who has big plans for all of humanity. His plan is to make the human race into an all-you-can-eat buffet for his fellow Leviathans once they take over the world.
Soon though Roman learns the whereabouts of an ancient tablet that holds the keys to kill a Leviathan, and he uses every resource in his power to retrieve it. The Winchesters, along with Castiel and Kevin Tran, the young prophet who can read the ancient tablet, soon get a hold of it.
After deciphering the tablet, Sam and Dean learn that the only way to kill Leviathan is to use a bone dripped in the three bloods of the Fallen, meaning a fallen-angel, a vampire alpha, and the King of Hell. After getting their blood, Sam and Dean team up with the demon Meg and the fallen-angel Castiel. Together they go straight to Roman enterprises and launch a full attack on the Leviathans. Once inside, the brothers split up and Sam finds Kevin whereas Dean and Castiel find Roman. Using the bone, Dean stabs Roman, which causes an explosion.
This explosion causes Dean, Castiel and Roman to disappear, which in turn leaves Sam alone especially after Crowley shows up and takes Kevin with him. Sam is left standing in Roman’s lab feeling truly alone. Then you see Dean wake up in a strange place with Castiel standing over him, and he begins to tell Dean that they are in a place where demons that are dead spend all of eternity ripping each other apart. Both Dean and Castiel are trapped inside purgatory.
This is where the fun begins. It’s been one full year since Dean and Castiel disappeared and Sam has had to carry on without his brother. Now though Dean has returned with an unlikely ally, a vampire named Benny. Dean then gives his brother a call and the both meet up at the cabin where they hid from the Leviathans, now that both brothers are reunited Dean finds out that Sam had quit hunting since he has been gone.
Also Dean and Sam soon learn that the prophet Kevin Tran has been on his own ever since he escaped from Crowley. Both of the Winchesters have to go and help Kevin but when they arrive they soon find that Kevin has been just fine on his own.
Adding to that Kevin reveals that Crowley uncovered another word of God and this one holds the key to closing the gates of hell forever therefore banishing every demon to hell forever. All three of them now under Crowley’s radar must find safety from him.
Tune in to watch what happens to Dean and Sam Winchester and also to Kevin Tran. Let’s see if this season will be the one where the Winchesters are finally free of demons forever.
