J’ette Pom Revue coming up

Anna Bezler, staff writer

Every year, the Jacksonville J’ettes Dance team hosts an event called the J’ette Pom Revue at the JHS Bowl for a night full of dancing. This year, the event will be held on October 29, 2017. The whole thing is put together by the J’ette coaches, the J’ettes themselves, and the families of the J’ettes as well. The J’ettes also host a clinic the Friday before the Pom Revue where they teach dances to girls in preschool through 8th grade and boys as well. These kids get to learn from the J’ettes, receive a t-shirt, and also perform at the Pom Revue in front of a huge crowd. It is so much fun and the J’ettes love to get involved with young dancers. Now is the time to sign your kids up for this great dance clinic.
On the night of the Pom Revue, there is so much wonderful dancing for the audience to enjoy. The J’ettes begin the night by signing the “Star Spangled Banner” in American Sign Language and they do one of their routines. The dances are always super upbeat and very entertaining. The night continues with the camp routines that were just learned by the kids. Along with that, the Jacksonville Middle School cheerleaders perform a routine as well as local dance studios and teams. Sara’s Studio of Dance and Stevens School of Dance always come to support the J’ettes and perform dances of their own. Those are always so good. The J’ettes will perform a few more times with the team leader routine, the J-Crew routine, and the “Favorite Son” routine. The J’ettes will have the J’Guys dance with them for the J-Crew routine which is always so funny. The J’ettes also can’t wait to carry on the tradition of the “Favorite Son” dance this year! It will be a night full of talent and fun. You won’t want to miss the Jacksonville J’ette Pom Revue!!
