J’ette competition season underway

This weekend, the J’ettes will be going to their first dance competition of the year. They have been putting in many hours to get their routines looking crisp and clean and ready to compete. They will be competing against school teams around the area. The J’ettes’ main goal is to make it to State, yet again, as they do every year in hopes of bringing home a state title.

The J’ettes will be competing two dance styles of their choice. The first is a pom routine that is full of energy and is very exciting to watch. It is a money theme so the songs are about money and work. The girls love to perform it and hope to do well with it this year. There is nothing like a good old pom routine taking the floor! The second dance is a very sassy and technical jazz routine. It is a jungle dance theme so the songs are all about animals and the jungle. The costumes are some super cute, leopard costumes and the girls love them. It is a very hard dance for the girls to do. The J’ettes have to do so many hard skills and tricks and keep their energy up the whole time.  They love both routines and can’t wait to show the judges what they’ve got.

On Saturday morning, the J’ettes and their coaches will have to be ready early to get on a bus and ride to Clinton. As soon as they get there, they will check in and go to their dressing room. They will then have the next couple hours to do their makeup and hair, get into costume, and stretch. After they compete both routines, they will get ready for awards. Hopefully the J’ettes will do great this weekend and will start the season off with a bang!
