JHS business Chicago trip 2016

This year’s Jacksonville High School Chicago Business Trip took place on December 2, 2016. Students enrolled in any type of business class at JHS including Consumer’s Ed, Accounting, and CVE are encouraged to turn in the signed permission slip and cost of $45 in order to attend the trip. Although this annual trip is primarily focused around the areas of business, all students from JHS are welcome to join as well if there is any remaining room. This year students were to arrive at the high school early Friday morning around 5:30 am. The students were then given three different options as to which bus to ride. Two of the three buses followed the same route visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, the Federal Reserve, and the business corporation site for Vibes (a business that revolves around text alerts for different companies). At these locations, the students were able to experience the different aspects of these three very unique business places. Students riding the third bus took a slightly different route stopping at the Museum of Science and Industry first and then taking a detour to Navy Pier and finally landing at Vibes. At the Federal Reserve the students were given the opportunity to see and understand the process of the central banking system of the United States. At Vibes the students took a tour of the company and learned how this business was able grow and develop into a rather large corporation. During the remaining few hours left of the trip, the students were free to roam about and shop along Michigan Ave. The trip’s activities finally concluded around 6:30 pm and the group returned back to Jacksonville. Overall, JHS’s 2016 Business Chicago trip proved to be successful yet again.
